McFrustration

Last night I went out for coffee with two friends and we started talking about food traditions, like how some people must have a coke with their burger, or how my friend’s daily dinner ritual would be potato chips, and a sandwich.

It reminded me all the more of a month-long frustration: I haven’t had my McSpaghetti meal yet! This morning I stared at a bunch of crumpled McDonald Meal coupons which I've tucked in my bag for ages, and with its expiry date being tomorrow, I am preparing my heart to say goodbye to them—especially to the McSpaghetti Meal coupon.

My hectic schedule plus the fact that the nearest McDonald’s is under renovation has been the reason why I haven’t been able to fulfill my food tradition/ritual this month. Tonight a friend of mine is taking me out for a post-birthday treat in a fancy restaurant—so obviously McDonald’s is out of the question—I don’t think it would make any sense to her if I asked to eat at McDonalds instead! I must really be desperate if I prefer McSpaghetti over a fancy dinner!

But I believe we all have our own tiny food rituals or traditions that make our day/week/month complete. I guess I will have to accept the fact that my March will be just a little bit incomplete…life’s like that, I guess.

So what’s your food ritual?

I thought this was going to be along the lines of a McDreamy a la Grey's anatomy. Hahaha. It turns out you McFrustration is really about McDonald's. I'm actually craving a McBrekky meal myself. reminder to self: get a breakfast meal at Macca's tomorrow.

Seriously! Seriously! lolz nakikilevel lang kay Swipe...he's talking about GA kasi :)

Anyway I used to eat the baked ziti of Sbarro every week. But that was before where I get to pass by SM City. But now different work location na so the habit kinda died na rin. But I still love it and yeah..i miss it :)

There was a time in my life when I preferred beer for my dinner dessert. :)

the mcdo nearest to my place is also under renovation. mcdo seems to be putting on a new look - more earthy colors, less bright red - perhaps to differentiate it from its bee competitor? i think the new look is classier :)

i don't think i have a food ritual. but lately i've stocked up on chocnut at the office :)

HI Jojie! Belated happy birthday! :) Sorry I missed greeting you on time. I was probably in the hospital then. Haha, so my fixation ka pala sa Mcdo! Dito sa States, corny ang McDo. Walang spaghetti at rice. hehe. Gusto mo pag nagkita tayo, sa Mcdo? Kahit mag dalawang meals ka pa. :) Hope you enjoyed your birthday. :)

Hi Gypsy. Belated Happy Birthday :D We share the same birthday month pala. My food ritual naman is - since walang McDo or Jollibee dito - Extreme Pizza, Double Pepperoni twice a month by a Thai-owned company called ,well, The Pizza Company. I had one just last night, and my, bondat ako!
Have a good weekend.

Swipe, same train of thought tayo somehow. When I was writing this post I actually thought of starting t by saying this is NOT about McDreamy! Haha! Forgot though--McDreamy is more Beng's McTerritory (and Vern's too!). Hehe..

Verns, Baked ziti! Hmmm...will add that on my list of "to check out." Hehe.

Abaniko, hehe. So you have moved on from beer to...gatorade? ;)

Snglguy, being in your area makes lamon a great hobby! Hehe. Yes, EK was super fun!

Melai! May tig singkwenta pa pala na litson manok? Hehe.

Aleks, I think we are talking about the same McDo branch. :)

Beng! Thanks--see you in McDo when you get back then! Hehe.

Hi ZJ, parang masarap yang Pizza na yan ah..sounds EXTREMELY GOOD. If I get to somewhere that was The Pizza Company, I should try it then.:)

McSpaghetti and McChicken - unfortunately these two items are not found in McDo chains here in Japan. No rice either. But maybe that's because the local McDo wants to compete with Jollibee products? :P

I have my own version of it :D

I also keep McDonald's coupon but they usually get untouched until they expire. We seldom go now to McDo kasi. Not only are we trying to eat healthy kuno ;) Magastos lang kasi talagang kumain sa labas. Eh ilan kaming kakain, diba?

Pag magastos ka, doon ka pupunta sa mga Pinoy Resto and get ready to shell out $30-$40 per meal per person.

Kathy, I was also very disappointed with the McDo in Singapore--ala ding McSpaghetti! But I guess they need to be relevant to their local customers in whichever country.

Hehe.

Niceheart, oh yeah, you just reminded me: eat healthy! Trying..trying..hehe.

Mon, wow, McRibb??? Sounds yummy! Would be interesting to visit all the McDo's around the world and see what unique offerings they have for each country. Oops, sobrang fanatic ba? Just a thought. Hehe.

Melai, hehe. Rituales ko sa sitsirya ay dapat partnered with Coke Lite or Pepsi Max. Ayan, naghahanap tuloy ako...

You are right... how could anyone drink water with a burger??? :) My food traditions? I need eggs for breakfast, coffee after every meal, and KFC when I go out of the country. :)
