I think I am not only speaking for myself when I say that the past is made up of jigsaw pieces of unexpected moments that finally fit together on hindsight. Looking forward to a new year means bracing ourselves for more of those unexpected moments to happen. Even though we have certain things penciled into our calendars, who’s to know how those supposedly planned events play out?
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you can not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten
The rest is still unwritten

i love this song~! hopefully all of us will have something nice to look back to '08. =)
Love that song! Very inspirational and I consider one of Natasha's Classics
They play this song over and over at this one radio station over here. I always switch the station b/c i just didn't like the song.... it sounds a bit too "commercial" for my taste. But the lyrics are actually not that bad since you've put the song in context. :D
Guess that's why its great to have a strong Faith to give you confidence during the unexpected moments ... :D
It shouldn't take a psychic to know what I'm gonna be blogging about in the year of the rat. Rants... and more rants. Mwehehe :-D

This post provokes much thinking. Oo nga .. we are tabula rasas each day. Who knows what gets written at the end of it ... no matter how meticulously we plan? This is a great insightful piece, Gypsy.
lol @ Sngl....haynaku hehe
Anyway hello Mare!!! whew! nawindang ako sa mga events last bakasyon. I didn't know where to start tapos tinamad pa (great inumpisahan ang blogging year ng katamaran hehe). Onga noh? Ano kaya ang mga blog materials natin this year. I know last year was full of drama and I really don't want that to happen to me again this year. Anyway things are pretty positive naman so hopefully.
Anyway I also like that song =)
Hi Gypsy, I like this song too. How are you? Miss you already. I hope to call again soon. I still owe you a letter.
Gypsy,
The exciting part of the journey is choosing what and how to write on the blank page -- scrawls, doodles, stipples, drawings? Happy writing in 2008!

true--unwritten page but amazing how at the end of the day everything has fallen in their write places, the page is full.
it may be better if you say, today is still unblogged :P

I love what you wrote... "the past is made up of jigsaw pieces of unexpected moments that finally fit together on hindsight"

Ferdz,
Yes it is quite inspirational and gets you in an excited mood on whats going to happen!
Wil,
Well, if over and over again...kakasawa nga, no matter how meaningful the song..hehe.
Hoop,
My faith's not all that strong but it has helped get me through rough patches..which I am sure I'll go through (some lang sana) this year--part of life, anyway...
Rudy,
Wahaa?? No new year's resolution--like raves (in a positive sense) instead of rants???
Anna,
Thanks! Hopefully part of what I will blog about this year is EB'ing with you! Naks!
Verns,

Freeze,
Thanks, minsan maganda pakinggan ang corny na bigkasin..hehe..
Most days, there's always an initial scribble on my daily life's page. I wake up to the shouts of our neighbor kasi. For me, it's like "complete the story" na lang. :)
ok, they've said it, but i'd like to add to the chorus of agreement: me love this song too! :) there's an acoustic version by a youtube artist, esmie denters. natasha sings back-up to her there. cute ;)
