Ever been tired and happy at the same time? That is how I feel today. I just got back from an overnight trip out of town and had one meeting after another today—after a couple of hour’s trip back to town. The last meeting just wrapped up a couple of minutes ago.
But even with the tiredness, it’s nice to know that many things got done and that you can go to sleep happy, even though you know that there are still about a week of "meeting marathon" (one more long-distance travel included).
Two factors that make my work meaningful and fun are the fact that I believe that what I do and where I am in what I do is my “place in the sun,” so to speak—my niche—and the other factor is that I am with colleagues (though only here for a short visit) who are so easy to work with and who share the same vision and passion I have with what I do. It does help that we’re able to “click” in such a short time (two days!), so much so that we can swap jokes and laugh at each other’s bloopers and antics without fear of being misunderstood.
If only everyday were like this, then there is nothing else I can ask God for …well, almost nothing!
Okey, better go and get ready for bed—another big day coming up tomorrow! And the next day…and the next…
Have a happy (even if you get tired) weekend!

It's great that you found your niche. I'm still searching for mine. I'm new to your blog, and I like it very much.
By the way, no matter what, I love the pink traveling bag.
I totally agree with you. Work would be such a drag if you're not happy with what you're doing and if you don't have fun at least once in a while.
Have a nice weekend too, gypsy. :)
there is nothing else I can ask God for …well, almost nothing!
Ano pa ba kaya? hehehe
You sound like you have a fascinating job. Community development or something like that siguro. Good for you that you enjoy your job. :)
You are very blessed Gypsy to have found your place in the sun and you love what you're doing.
Good for you, Gypsy. After twenty years in the same line of work I feel like I'm starting to burn out. Actually, I think I'm already burned out... haizzzz
the travelling part of your job--certainly more extensive than mine--is what i covet, haha. now that you're going to london, i can only turn green with envy. enjoy the west end, gypsy! and don't lose the sunny glasses. tell us all about ewan mcgregor here, haha. :)
I used to feel that way when I was still doing prod work back in Davao. it's different when you love your work because the tired feeling is actually satisfying. I remember how my team and i would have coffee after a frantic day of shoot and we'd exchange highs and lows of the day and we'd all be smiling.
Now it's just work. And the tiring feeling is just that--tiring. No tinge of happiness, nothing to make you say "but it's all worth it" at the end of the day.
Cheers to you, gypsy =) jobs like that don't come often.
it is nice to be able to click with people.
when it happens with people you just met but end up feeling like you've known each other forever, it is usually a sign that you are a warm person.
That is very nice to know. People work more efficiently when they are at their niche as they like what they are doing. :D
I guess you're one of those people who is lucky to have a fulfilling job...I am happy for you =)
Hi Gypsy, this is my first visit, got here thru Ipanema's site. You have a nice site. I'll be visiting often. Congrats on your Rockin' Girl Blogger Award. Cheers!
I know about being tired-happy. When you have been productive, straightened a kind or two, met pleasant people at work, maybe even received a compliment or two.
It only happens when you like what you're doing. :)
Good for you. Have a sweet and good nite rest and here's to another happy day ahead!!!
good for you, gypsy! you're like a basketball or a tennis player who loves what they're doing and actually get paid for doing it. :)
Tired yet happy is such a nice feeling. Keep counting your blessings, Gypsy.
got great colleagues and extensive travel to boot? u must be God's most favored child... :-)
Hey guys, thanks for the comments! Still happily tired, my temporary colleagues are leaving tomorrow so am back to "reality." Will be missing them, but hey, it was fun and life goes on...but it's nice to know I have gained new friends. :)
Gypsy, it's refreshing to think that maybe God sends the happy-tired moments along to help us get through the 'arrrggghh' moments that come in any job.
San
for being able to do what you like best doing, for being in the company of people you like to be best, i believe with you when you say, there is almost nothing you can ask more for, and sleep peacefully at the end of the day, no matter how tired you are.
